Sunday Surf

  • What not to say to couples facing infertility, a very to the point article on Up, Down & Natural.
  • Uncertainty in the Diagnostic Methods of the Obstetrician, if only all obstetric students and birthing mothers would read this!  "This belief system has been preached to future physicians and obstetricians, who passed it along to their students until the whole culture of childbirth medicine became steeped in a religious-like belief in the power of the fetal monitor, labor curves, ultrasound measurements and the like. This belief is similarly conveyed to patients who are assured that if their pregnancy was managed according to the protocols developed by trusted researchers, their babies would be delivered without fail and without harm."
  • Wendy Priesnitz writes about how learning just happens, an article that rings very true about the process of learning
  • A very extensive list of homemade cleaners, with a very small list of ingredients, just the way we like it! I bet if you're looking for a specific cleaner or you have stains you can't figure out how to remove, it's on there.

    1. Great articles today. I enjoyed reading about the cleaners. I want to start using more natural remedies. I recently starting using a vinegar and water solution for cleaning, and I am amazed at how well it does the job. Now if I could just get past the smell....

    2. you could add a few drops of essential oil to break the smell, like teatree and lavender or orange or lemon

    3. Sounds good. Where do I get the oils? I'm sorry; I'm so out of touch sometimes.

    4. you should be able to find them at a health food store, or a store that sells natural cosmetics. I buy them online through amazon, because that's the only way (for now) that I've found to get them in bigger bottles, and I don't even have to leave the house...
