Unschooling quotes

"Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid." –Albert Einstein

"Today for Show and Tell, I've brought a tiny marvel of nature: a single snowflake. I think we might all learn a lesson from how this utterly unique and exquisite crystal turns into an ordinary, boring molecule of water, just like every other one, when you bring it in the classroom. And now, while the analogy sinks in, I'll... be leaving you drips and going outside." --Calvin, from Calvin & Hobbes

parenting quotes

Let's start off with some wonderful quotes I have gathered over time.

"Don't worry that children never listen to you, worry that they are always watching you" - Robert Fulghum

“Rewards and punishments are not opposites at all; they are two sides of the same coin. And it is a coin that does not buy very much” - Alfie Kohn

"Evil exists. But it is not something that some people are born with. It is produced by society, every day, every hour, unceasingly, all over the world." - Alice Miller

"There is no single effort more radical in its potential for saving the world than a transformation of the way we raise our children." ~ Marianne Williamson

"When parents experience excessive strain this is largely due to our adherence to the myth that it takes just two adults to raise a child. Our society has grossly underestimated the energy required to truly meet children's needs." - Robin Grille and Beth Macgregor

"It takes a village to raise a child." african proverb

"One generation plants the trees; another gets the shade." Chinese proverb

"People who say they sleep like a baby usually don't have one." ~Leo J. Burke

Hello and welcome

Over the past year or so, I have been bothering my facebook contacts with articles on natural childbirth, cloth diapering, breastfeeding, unschooling, peaceful parenting and so on... It became clear to me that I'd better just go and create a blog and put everything together for those willing to read all this information.
So to all of you, welcome and I hope you find what you are looking for. Please leave a comment to let me know what you think, or if you have any suggestions, you are invited to put them down there too.
Let's hope this will be a fruitful experience.

Greets
