Call For Participants

I got this call for respondents in an unschooling/project based learning survey:

My name is Coleen Kosan and  I am a graduate student at Shawnee State University in Portsmouth, OH. I am working on completing my Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. My husband and I have been unschooling our two boys for 17 years. I am beginning my research for my thesis and the focus will be unschooling and Project-Based Learning (PBL) as a learning option( not required).  My husband and I have implemented PBL with our boys for the past 12 years and have seen how it has impacted our lives. This is the reason I am devoting my thesis to learning more about how others are successfully unschooling their children. All the research on learning in a less structured environment is pointed toward public schooled children and college students. I know that other unschoolers are implementing leaning in this manner it and I want to discover the how and whys behind how it is working in a home environment.

I will be conducting an anonymous and confidential survey to gather the information.  The answers are confidential and I do not see emails, names or any other sensitive information from the participants. If you choose to take the survey on learning in an unschooling/less structured environment you give me consent to be a participant.  If someone chooses not to participate then they simply delete this email :) The email supplied at the end of this letter is where you can contact me directly with any questions regarding the research. I will not be able to respond to requests that are posted within the groups, since it is will be overwhelming to read all the post within each group I am asking to participate. However, if you decide to participate I will not know your personal information since it is all done from the Survey Monkey site where you complete the survey.

The survey would impact the following home educators
Unschooling for more than one year.
Tried/Used Project-Based Learning for at least a year

Happy Home Learning!
Thank you for taking the time to read and ponder the idea of participating in the survey.
